Re: Your first subject
I have been thinking a bit about how things could work & have a few suggestions to make:
In the last AvA, we had about 100 participants, While I was watching (& I was not always on, had a vacation & a "difficult" week & weekend during this AvA ) maybe 20-30 people were visibly active on a really regular basis with repairs, contributions, chat...
So having this distributed over 8 regions would IMO:
a; stretch us out too thin (if distributed nearly evenly), leaving 10+ warriors & 3-4 really active ones per region.
b; make some regions totally marginal if spread uneven.
So what I suggest is:
4 regions:
- North (comprising "The North" )
- West (again Westerlands only)
- East (Iron Islands, Stormlands, Crownlands)
- South (Reach, Riverlands, Dorne)
I admit the last 2 are questionable in terms of Westerosi geography but practical in terms how the regions are lined-up in the War-map screen & camps...
This way we would have 4 wardens, possibly cca. equal in power, line of command is clearer, each warden has some punching power (would be 25 warriors & 7-8 really active people per region) etc... So each of the 4 can mount some serious action & campbuilding + would be easier to concentrate effort if needed in an all-out war (should such an event occur by pure accident... ).

Comprehensive and making a lot of sense too . Activity and participating members has been one of my concerns as well .

Alysia's idea
Alysia's idea is well thought out. I think the 4 region idea is smart, and would equalize power more between the 4. My question is, in each region could we have a dedicated floating member(s) who could be pulled to another region if if got hectic there. Which knowing us will definitely happen!

Re: Your first subject
Alysia, very good points. Maybe instead of grouping some of the regions, we just pick a total of four or five regions to work in and as we gain more active members we can expand into the other regions.

Re: Your first subject
Councillor Greenwood is right. We need to forego some regions, because we'd just implode in the absence of active members. Maybe we can bide our time until we get more active members, and then concentrate on permanent garrisons in all 8 regions. So, for now, we shall have only 4 wardens.
Re: Your first subject
I have a question, does it benefit us to have 500 members? Would we be more apt to gain more members who are looking for a stronger yet closer alliance if we had less, and I mean people who haven't been active in a long time to get rid of? I could be totally wrong, just asking.

Re: Your first subject
You're not wrong at all, Advisor. In fact, I'm thinking of running a massive axing drive soon...
Re: Your first subject
Completely agree that a cull is in order , but just a thought , might it be worth running some sort of recruitment drive first ? mass messages to members , try and draw a few of the 500 in ? Seems to me like a bit of an untapped resource . If it fails we're still in the same place , but if it succeeds ?

You know its weird I think there's a lot that play, yet that don't take part in alliance activities, sometimes I see people in member challenges and I wonder who they are... I think you have to have people who enjoy the banter and competition etc. I might not have kept up long enough to realize I loved it, except for the General's message on the MOTD about inactive members getting kicked daily, I wasn't going to get tossed! Might be good to show we do have follow through.

I think the axing can only help... It may be the shake up some of these members need to get involved. They can always ask to rejoin if they want to prove themselves...
